Gentlemen, start your complaining
Uh oh, Liuzzi currently second in second practice, less than two tenths behind Alonso. I can hear the team bosses now.....!

Looks like Williams caved to peer pressure at the end of P2!

Engine failure.
McLaren look to be struggling at this stage. Williams and Honda look to be pretty quick... If STR were smart they would not show their "true" pace until Sunday, they should tank up the car for Saturday's quali, and then blitz the field come sunday. If they do have a performance advantage, and they totally anahilate the field in sat quali, the FIA will no doubt impose performance restrictions for the race come Sunday. |

after Liuzzi's fastest lap he went faster again in the first sector but then backed right off - you could imagine someone on the radio yelling to slow down!!

Not a new thing that davidson leads the pack (first point on the fans comp contest! ), nonetheless I'm astonished by the gap between him and his teammates: almost 2 secs over Button and over 3 over Barrichello

I'll be cheering for STR now. The FIA deserve to look stupid after their naive attmept at parity.

It will be a sad day if STR even gets points. I would love to see Speed do well but at the same time not with an advantage. If they are spoilers in the first few races it will only make F1 look like a bigger sham than it does already.

Ya, A good day for Kubica.
During practice this year JV and NH were a little quicker than Kubica. Looking forward to tomorrow and the season. Also found some more info on JV's practice run today. http://www.jv-world.com/news/story_9950.shtml Had a hard time or took a little bit of time getting on some F1 sights. The servers are busy today |

Is STR the only team running the old V10? It will indeed be a sad day if a V10 gets points, when the clear intent of F1 is to run V8's. I still dont fully understand why F1 didnt just mandate the V8, and for the 1 or two teams that couldnt come up with one, work out some sort of deal from other V8 providers to supply them (a customer engine, not works engine of course).

If the team was allowed the v10 then the restrictions should be strict enough to prevent them from having any sort of advantage. I think it would be better if they had less power than the other teams and were then allowed a few more revs if the deficit was unacceptable. Now its the other way around, STR may lose revs or get a smaller restrictor. By the way losing revs again is an advantage. The motor will last even longer. They will more than likely not have a single failure this year.

It does fly in the face of the new engine regulations. I agree with what Pat Symonds said in this months F1 racing. The Minardi team were allowed to run V10s as a goodwill gesture from the other teams, then when STR took over they should have moved to V8s due to STR having the budget to run them. They haven't and IMO it flys in the face of the gesture in the first place.
That said the teams should have tried to stop STR running the V10s ages ago. |
