2cv 24Hr Snetterton 2007

As a reminder to everyone, prior to filling in all those soon to be received availability forms, that the fun packed 2cv 24Hr race at Snetterton will be held on the 27th 28th May 2007. As Dave W mentioned in another thread this is one weekend not to miss!

The weekend will be supported once again by Stingray Media and will also feature PistonFest 2007, for all the custom and supercar fans. I am informed by the 2cv Club that it will be a bigger event than in previous years.

There will also be the usual pre-event get together / party / foodfest with the drivers/teams and marshals and the camarderie thoughout the weekend is always superb.

For those that may not have marshalled at this event in the past click on the following link for a preview of the 2007 event;

www.youtube.com/watch?v=2oRvetuqPFc

Hope to see you there!

Terry

Won't be marshalling, but hopefully (touch wood!) I will be there for the race this year. Said that for the last two years though... in 2005 I went to shoot the supports on the Saturday, and got incinerated by the sun... 2006 I went on the Friday test day, and went to Brands Hatch on the Sunday. Was going to go to Snetterton, but it got cold and damp, and I was tired... so I didn't.

Hopefully that'll change in '07!

No clash of events this year so I sould be there all weekend. Last year had to make do with just being there for the first half day.

Time to start crossing fingers that my finals are nice and early so I'll be able to attend without a guilty complex that I should be revising!

Asp,
knowing the fantastic speeds the 2CVs reach, I'm sure you could be on post and revise at the same time

I must now bow to the pressure inflicted on me by Pete and Andrew the last time I visited Norfolk and say

I,ll be there.

I am looking forward to my first 24hr. I have been told that its agreat weekend but one that has to attended to fully appreciate.

Bluebeard...it does.

Currently timetabled to clash with the opening meeting of the new Anglesey!

What a decision...I still don't know which one I'm going to do!

Harry,
That's a shame - would have been good to have you with us again at Snet - but fully understand the reasons - perhaps see you at another Snet meeting. You know you'll always be welcome to join us.

Chezza,
You would regret not being at the 24hr - you know it makes sense!

Mike

I normally arrive the day before about lunchtime and never have a problem. Marshals camp to the right of/behind Tyrells restaurant. (thats facing the front of Tyrells)
Considering your age, you might want to come a few days before and have a rest before going out on bank.

I imagine the camping arrangements may end up changing slightly for next year given the circuit alterations - they will slightly encroach onto both the current public and marshal camping areas (looking at the plans anyway).
However, there is plenty of room, so I'm sure any changes will become apparent with the start of the new season and all established by the time of the 24h.

Not all the proposed alterations will take place this winter. Most of the work is around the Bombhole/Coram/Russell area so I suspect that marshals camping will be unaffected, at least for 2007.

Mike, apart from arriving early as Peter suggested I'd also suggest not being in too much of a hurry to get away as there is plenty of hospitality - or as Terry puts it, debriefing sessions - at the end of the event.

Yes, as Dave says the 2cv competitors have the post race presentations in Tyrrell's after the event, to which all the marshals and officials are invited and included totally in the celebrations. Although there appears to be one crew in particular that always seems to have the stamina to be the last out at the end of the evening!

Seriously though it is a fun event from Friday afternoon right through to the Monday night.

Yes Terry, your crew does seem to have the stamina when it comes to the "debrief"
