RIP Kirk McCarthy....
sad news for aussie racing fans. 1995 australian superbike champion kirk mccarthy passed away yesterday (sun - aug 15) after a crash at queensland raceway
 many v8 fans will remember kirk on the winfield rc45 honda at the atcc / v8 2 + 4 rounds. RIP champ

I only found out about this shocking news a few hours ago, Kirk and I use to knock around as Kids along with Marty Craggill, although I haven't seen him for a while, I will always remember him as one of the funniest blokes I know add to that just a really nice guy.

OMG , what terrible news , I remember him from his sliding days on a superbike , simply superb to watch and a guy I had alot of respect for.
i didnt know he swapped over to cars however , did this accident happen in a car and not on a bike ? my deepest sympathies to his family and friends. RIP Kirk |

Believe he was running in the Super Sport category at QLD Raceway when he was hit by another ridr. Whether he had already come off his bike at the time wasn't passed on to me.
Jus Do It - two wheels - he was bike racing. |
