I know its only pracice and all that, but interesting the Ferrari and Kimi are off the pace. I thought you would want at least one qualifying type run before the "shootout", maybe they don't bother?

Yeah, but when you take Ferrari out of the equation, that is usually the case.

Maybe they're having problems setting up the car under the new rules like I thought they might.

Because of the long straight, Barcelona is one of the easiest circuits at which to 'sandbag'; that is, to make the car look slower than it is. My guess is that they have slightlyeased off on the early part of the straights, inpercievably to the naked eye, before getting back to top speed for the trap. No doubt they've done the same on the other straights in the different split sections. Coulthard and Barrichello have been much quicker,so it can't be purely the cars, and I refuse to belive that DC would be so much faster than Kimi on pure pace.

Also, they do so much testing at Barcelona, that they will have already done lowfuel runs with the McLaren in its current spec, so Kimi will have all the data for that (relating to qualifying one of course)

the Michelins look really flexible for this race , Montoya's tyres were wobbling around so much they looked like they were going to come off the rims !. Not literally or course , but you know what i mean .

Firman and Wilson ahead of their team-mates...
That sandbagging thing could well be right - currently it's a MS - RB 1-2 in qualifying (by 0.6s ahead of Kimi)
